“Every so often an artist comes along that literally has it all... great songwriting, a beautiful seductive voice and a passion for music: Shelly Rudolph is that special artist."
SONG. SOUL. STORY.
Shelly Rudolph is a genre-defying vocalist, songwriter, and performer whose artistry blends jazz, soul, and timeless songcraft into performances that are equal parts sensual, soulful, and deeply human.
With a voice described as “equal parts sugar and whiskey” (All About Jazz) and “a honey-glazed throat to send chills up and down your spine” (LA Weekly), the Portland-based artist captivates audiences worldwide with performances rich in warmth, storytelling, and magnetic presence.
A “soulful vocalist that prefers not to be contained” (Midwest Record), Rudolph’s career spans more than three decades of recording and performance across the U.S. and abroad. Her work moves fluidly between jazz, blues, and her own powerfully romantic material — inviting audiences into a world where music becomes both intimate storytelling and soulful celebration.
As a recording artist, Rudolph has released three full-length albums and two EPs, including the critically acclaimed The Way We Love featuring GRAMMY-winning cellist David Darling. Her international single I Love LOVE — a sumptuous dance-soul collaboration with Charlie Hunter — has lit up radio playlists around the world and continues to inspire joyful movement wherever it’s played.
Her forthcoming 2026 release Wild Darling expands that vision: a luminous, groove-rich collection inspired by the great divas — Aretha, Etta, Billie, and Nina — yet infused with a modern mystique all its own. Blending jazz, blues, and her own romantic songwriting, Rudolph conjures a sonic cocktail of sass, soul, and sophistication — a sultry tumble rise-up of bluesy boleros, hip-sway ballads, and irresistible groove.
Rudolph’s artistry is rooted in her early years surrounded by visual and performance art at her mother’s contemporary gallery in Portland. “I was raised to believe that the source of art and the source of life are one and the same,” she reflects. “My path has always followed the river of song as my ever-flowing guide.”
Her collaborators include David Darling (ECM), Charlie Hunter, Zach Gill (Jack Johnson), David Piltch (k.d. lang), Ken Stange (Joe Cocker), David Mathews (Etta James), Tom Grant, Pink Martini’s Phil Baker, and many more.
Beyond the stage, Rudolph is also the founder of Share Your Gifts, a nourishing online space for people with a creative spark — writers, singers, artists, dreamers — anyone ready to create, connect, and grow out loud.
A featured artist on Oregon Public Broadcasting, PDX Jazz, and Portland’s ListenLocal program, she is also a recipient of the Holler Fund Grant and the RACC Professional Development Grant for her contributions to the Pacific Northwest music scene.
“Shelly possesses that natural, earthy tone that can’t be taught in a music class. Her voice caresses your ears and her sassy attitude keeps you coming back for more.”

"When Shelly Rudolph sings, you can smell the smoke... this is the moment to catch a rising star."
The Oregonian
“Swinging between the pleasure palaces of jazz, 70’s influenced pop and hook-laden R&B and soul, Rudolph has a charming, pulchritudinous ease on stage that’s both fresh and genuine. With a honey-rich alto and a wise compass, she’s able to easily globetrot from chugging blue-eyed gospel to breathy Juile Londonisms to insinuating, luxuriously behind-the-beat slow dances. No period extravagance or croon-posturing here. Just good old- fashioned singing.” - Willamette Week
"Shelly Rudolph has the looks, talent and charisma to win over new crowds and a honey-glazed throat to send chills up and down your spine."
